The African Student UnionThe African Student Union is the Official umbrella organization for the African American Organizations on campus. The African Student Union was founded in 1967 and its initial members were very active in pushing for a Black Studies Department. We have been the uniting force between the African American Organizations on campus by promoting leadership, knowledge, community service and afro-centricity among our African Student Body.
Our Purpose • To make the African American students on campus aware of the need for unity. • To link African American students and the academic process with the African American Community. • To improve the position of the African American students on campus. • To make the students aware of their responsibilities in the community. • To bring about advancement in our prospective fields.
